KODÁLY AUSTRALIAN CERTIFICATION - PRIMARY LEVEL

This 10-day course caters for music specialists in primary schools, classroom teachers, studio teachers and other interested people who wish to improve their music teaching skills. The classroom music course is designed as a 3-year sequential program in the area of Primary Classroom Music Pedagogy. Participants are required to complete each of the 3 levels of the Primary Classroom Music Pedagogy Program in order to be eligible for the Australian Kodály Certificate.

The curriculum includes:

  •     Methodology
  •     Repertoire
  •     Practicum
  •     Musicianship
  •     Choral Conducting
  •     Choir
This intensive training on Kodaly Teaching Method which organised by Young Choral Academy (30 May - 10 June 2011)

It was a very intensive training and up to a certain point I told myself I really need a time off :-)  The whole Kodaly Primary Level One emphasis lots on Musicianship training and Teaching Methodology.  I understand that some of the participants struggled in singing and hand sign and playing the piano at the same time.  Please imagine you have to sing a minor (natural) scale and at the same time you have to play it on the piano but a 3rd apart.  It was a very challenging tasks for me too but it is very good in body and mind coordinating.

Looking forward to the next level - Level two training on December this year end.
